As for the dithering, I get why it was there, I just thought it went on for so long that I started to find it kind of boring, and that's really really not what you want from your finale. I concede that "terrible" may have been an overstatement lol, but maybe that just shows that the excellent action sequences earlier had raised my standards. Making the decision to kill either for the sake of the mission would've been incredibly difficult. Muv Luv Alternative is a novel I really enjoyed, so I wanted to know if there are any others like it in english. Spoiler: Regarding Takeru's dithering, it's understandable if you consider the fact that both Sumika and Meiya had been Takeru's lovers/wives/mothers of his children, quite possibly hundreds of times over. I used to be into visual novels a few years ago but kind of got burned out due to binge reading very long visual novels in a short amount of time, but recently due to quarantine I wanted to get back into the medium. It's about as close to perfect as you can get. I didn't mind seeing the new characters, as they were familiar faces from previous VNs in the age universe (Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Akane Maniax). I do feel the attack on Kashgar was kinda fumbled, though I wouldn't say it was terrible. It relies on the setup of the two previous stories to begin exploring the setting and using the characters for a much grander, more dramatic effect.
